Brigadier General Colleen McGuire is presently the Senior Leader Development Office of the Chief of Staff, Army. Previously she served 18 months assigned to the Multi-National Corps Provost Marshal in Iraq and was the senior advisor to the corps commander in Baghdad, Iraq.
General McGuire is the only female to be promoted to general grade from the military police corps and the first and only female to be commandant of the U. S. Disciplinary Barracks, on Fort Leavenworth. Prior to that she was commandant of the 705th Military Battalion.
She was on the ground in Somalia in 1993 and '94 as a public affairs officer during the United States' turbulent peacekeeping efforts.
She is the first woman from Montana to make general in the U.S. Army, and she is honored, to be in the top 1 percent to 3 percent of the Army.
